About the Book

"On the Road with Diana and Holga"
The images contained in this book were originally included in an exhibition at Red Door Gallery in Zurich, Switzerland during December/January 2007-2008. The original images have been produced using plastic toy cameras popular during the 1960's. Using 120 medium format film, these cameras produce images with a very unique, almost painterly quality. Prone to light leaks and inconsistent exposures, the photographer must rely more often on luck than technical skill to produce a printable image. This randomness allows the artist to concentrate on composition, light and shadow and when combined with hand processing of both film and prints, presents a broad range of possibilities.
