About the Book
"Urban Nomad" uses randomly placed poetic text written as a commentary on culture, myth and identity to create a visual narrative that questions a variety of issues within the context of modern urban culture. By placing words in a seemingly random order, the viewer has the possibility to construct phrases that create new meaning. The juxtaposition of words and images in the series examine cultural identity and urban mythology as it relates to common belief systems integrated with societal perceptions of acceptance, place, faith, power, and tolerance..Urban Nomad is an exploration into the sence of belonging and exclusion in modern society. The series is a collection of images originally printed on Ilfochrome and Silver Gelatin materials with text produced as an exhibition and book (available from Blurb).
